Oleksandr Usyk’s team shut the Riyadh chapter. Three defenses there. Two against Fury. The belts stayed; the relationship didn’t. Manager Egis Klimas told The National in Dubai “a different group from the United States will promote Usyk’s next fight.” No surprise. When checks slow, fighters move.
The Money Moves, Not the Fighters
American promoters smell opportunity. Top Rank, PBC, maybe Golden Boy — all circling. Klimas says, “It’s not official yet, so I cannot tell you.” Means talks are real, papers not yet signed.
Saudi money tried to fast-track Moses Itauma into a lead role. He’s still building a base. Usyk stepped away once the direction stopped lining up with the money. The Saudi table lost interest when the headlines faded. Happens fast.
Klimas isn’t fully shutting the door. “He might be fighting in the Riyadh season, but as far as right now, we don’t have any offers.” Translation: no bag, no bout. Usyk brought value, now they chase fresh storylines.
Wilder Talks Heating
Word is Wilder next — April or May 2026, stateside. Klimas confirmed, “It’s very likely [we will see Usyk face Wilder]. Because right now we’re working on it.” Multi-fight deal taking shape. Wilder’s camp listening.
“Wilder is one of the best names [that] Oleksandr didn’t face yet. He’s still in good shape, and he’s still a fighter, so he’s interesting. And as well, it’s the United States.”
The math: Wilder’s dropped 6 of his last 10. Zhang stopped him, Parker embarrassed him, beat a no-name in June. Still dangerous — one clean right changes the script. Usyk’s movement cuts those angles, but twelve rounds with that risk wears a man. Anyone thinking Wilder’s finished hasn’t felt that power close.
Usyk’s been saying he’s got “at least two more years.” Klimas backs that: “He feels strong. It’s not time for him to hang up his gloves.” Maybe not, but the gas tank’s thinning. The Dubois stoppage at Wembley was sharp. Still, the edge fades once reflex becomes memory.
